Your path to a more inspiring future is one that is bathed in your life meaning and purpose. What does that mean?
We will start by looking at meaning in life. What is it that holds value for you?. What touches your soul, grabs at your heart strings, nourishes your very being. Those things are meaningful and those are the things that give you strength and vitality, persistence and determination. Those are the things that hold meaning for you. Those are the things you seek and smile broadly when they come before you.
STOP for a few minutes and just ponder what it is that does those magical things for you. Is it beauty in art or nature or music? Is it seeing the smile on your children or grandchildren or both. Is it a beautiful sunset or a small kitty or a group of innocents playing in the schoolyard laughing and fully giving themselves to the day. What is it that gives you goose bumps?
I love walking in nature and just fully being in it without walking fast or labelling. Most often I will refer to aspects of nature when expressing meaning but this time I feel the urge to share something in music that excites me and makes my heart beat faster. It is an aria from the opera Rigoletto written by Verdi. Whenever I hear it, I stop and feel all the emotion of the coming together of four voices in what is commonly called the Quartet. Sometimes I think of it as four voices in my head arguing for supremacy and finally coming together but not in harmony but rather in an acceptance of differences with each still being true to themselves. None of that makes reference to the words that are being sung or the story they tell. To me it is the genius of Verdi coming through and continuing long after his death. I feel touched by his genius and also by the absolute brilliance of the four opera singers/performers who are able to sing it with passion with their talented voices and amazingly perfect timing though their individual pieces are not in harmony with the other and sounding so separate yet so together. I happened to find a link so that I can share it with you. You may not appreciate opera, but you may be moved by the perfection and beauty of this particular piece in an opera with a tragic ending.
